Empowering women through skill, creativity, dignity and sustainable livelihoods - one handcrafted piece at a time.

कपRaasa was born from a simple yet powerful belief: every woman deserves the opportunity to become independent, confident, and financially empowered. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Amrita Gupta and her son Shiven Gupta witnessed talented women struggling not because they lacked skills, but because they lacked opportunities.
What began in August 2021 with a single artisan and handmade newborn jaabla sets has grown into a thriving community of women artisans creating handcrafted products with pride and purpose. Through skill development, workshops, exhibitions, and sustainable livelihood opportunities, कपRaasa continues to transform talent into independence.

A mother and her son who turned a quiet observation during the pandemic into a movement for women's livelihood.

Founder of कपRaasa, Amrita Gupta started the initiative with a vision to empower underprivileged women through skill development, sustainable livelihoods, and financial independence.

Shiven Gupta is a young changemaker who actively supports कपRaasa's mission through planning, community engagement, and encouraging women artisans on their journey toward self-reliance.
To empower underprivileged women by transforming their skills into sustainable livelihoods — enabling them to become financially independent, confident and self-reliant.
A world where every woman has the wings to rise above limitations, earn with dignity, and shape a better future for her family.
Dignity in work. Honesty in craft. Patience in growth. Community over commerce. And the quiet luxury of things made by hand.
No two pieces are alike. Every bouquet, bag and organiser is shaped by the hands — and the story — of the woman who made it.

Sunita joined कपRaasa over three years ago. At that time, she struggled with day-to-day household expenses and had very limited stitching skills.
Through continuous training and guidance at कपRaasa, she learned stitching, quilting, piping, and product finishing techniques. With practice and dedication, her confidence grew along with her skills.
Today, Sunita creates beautiful tote bags, kits, and handcrafted products. She earns independently and can comfortably support her daily expenses while contributing to her family's future.

Lalita struggled to manage her household expenses and was determined to create a better future for her daughter. Although she knew basic stitching, she was not confident in her skills and had limited opportunities to earn a steady income.
Lalita joined कपRaasa over three years ago along with her daughter. Through regular training, guidance, and practical experience, she improved her stitching skills and learned professional techniques. कपRaasa also supported her daughter in developing employable skills and becoming financially independent.
Today, Lalita is a skilled artisan who contributes to the creation of beautiful handcrafted products. She confidently works on stitching and finishing tasks while earning a sustainable income. Her daughter is now employed at a boutique with a monthly salary of ₹8,000, allowing the family to enjoy greater financial stability and look forward to a brighter future.

Satinder Kaur was the only woman associated with कपRaasa when the initiative began. She worked as a housemaid and struggled to provide quality education and opportunities for her three children. Financial constraints made it difficult to support their dreams and secure a stable future.
Over the years, Satinder became an integral part of कपRaasa. Through continuous support, skill development, and opportunities to earn with dignity, she gradually improved her financial condition and gained confidence. Her dedication helped her create a better life for her family and ensure that all three of her children could continue their education.
Today, Satinder Kaur proudly supports her family through her work with कपRaasa. All three of her children are studying, and her eldest son has completed a two-year ITI course in Draftsman Engineering. He is now employed at ISGEC Sugar Mill as a Draftsman, earning a monthly salary of ₹15,000. Satinder's journey reflects how empowerment and opportunity can transform not only one life, but an entire family's future.
